I don't want to go on an expensive vacation to attend your wedding, but I don't want to hurt your feelings. What do I do?
We understand that this experience is expensive and logistically difficult. Our feelings are not hurt in the slightest if you cannot attend for any reason. Just RSVP saying you cannot attend to let us know you received our invitation, no explanation needed. We love you!
Wait... 2023?
Yes, 2023. Be sure you're planning your trip for next year, in 2023. Who wouldn't want to get married on lucky number 13? Also, we wanted to give our guests ample time to plan, prepare, and save for this vacation.
Do I need a passport to travel to Mexico?
Yes. Please start applying for or renewing your passport at least six months prior to travel if needed.

How do I navigate the Cancun Airport?
When you land you will go through immigration first. Sometimes this is quick, but at high travel times the lines can get a little backed up. You can fill out the FMM immigration form ahead of time online using this link (https://www.inm.gob.mx/fmme/publico/en/solicitud.html ), print and bring it with you. Only use the link from the official government website. Forms are also available on the plane. If you plan on filling your form out on the plane, remember to bring a pen!
At immigration you will show your passport and the FMM form. Immigration will stamp your passport and return part of the form to you. KEEP THIS FORM. You will need it to leave the country. If it gets lost or damaged you can purchase a new one at the airport.
Once you go through immigration you will head to baggage claim, then proceed to customs.
If you have nothing to declare, you will keep going. If you have more than the duty free allowance ($500 per person), you can be taxed on the import of goods. Bring reciepts to prove the value of your goods.
After passing through the glass doors at customs, KEEP WALKING until you are outside. (We cannot stress this enough, KEEP WALKING and do not stop.) As you walk down this hallway MANY people will try to stop you and sell you tours, taxis, timeshares, etc. It can be overwhelming if you aren't expecting it. Keep your eyes straight ahead and charge on through.
Find your transport company and check in with them. They will show you to your vehicle and you'll soon be on your way!
How do I book airport ground transportation?
Shared transportation can be booked through our Liberty Travel website when you book your room.

Private transportation can be booked through Unico's website. The Luxury transportation option involves a limo and drinks. The van transportation option is great for large groups.

An alternative to airport transportation is a rental vehicle. This is a good option if you intend to travel outside the resort. Rental vehicles are also very affordable in Mexico. Valet parking is free for Unico guests.
Do I need to purchase travel insurance?
Travel insurance is optional, however, we do recommend purchasing it. You can purchase travel insurance through our travel agent when you book your room.

Do I need to stay at Unico 20 87 in order to attend the wedding?
We highly recommend staying at Unico for the wedding. Staying off property gets VERY complicated. We are limited with the number of wedding guests that may stay off property and have to pay a fee for each guest that does not stay at Unico. So please, stay at Unico.
How do I book my room at Unico 20 87?
You MUST book your room through our Liberty Travel website. You will need to register, choose your room, and place a deposit through the website.

How long can I stay at the resort?
You can stay at Unico for as long as you wish. We have reserved a room block from Saturday, December 2nd through Thursday December 7th to ensure rooms are available for your stay. However, you are welcome to book additional nights outside of the room block. If you need to extend your stay, click on the "contact us" tab on our Liberty Travel website to send a message to our travel agent, Chris. Please note there is a 3 night minumum stay to be included in the room block and attend the wedding per resort rules.
Why are the rates different if you check in on Sunday, December 3rd?
Unico is offering our room block a discount for checking in on Sunday in order to leave more of their rooms available on Saturday. If you are looking to save money, we recommend starting your vacation on Sunday night to take advantage of this deal.
Is the deposit really due this year, in 2022?
Yes. Unico is a very popular wedding destination and the resort does fill up. Deposits are due by June 16th, 2022 in order to guarantee your room will be available for your desired dates. If you pay a deposit after this date there is a possibility that a room will not be available. Deposits are $200/person for double occupancy and $250/person for single occupancy.
I don't know what type of room to book. What is the difference?

Can I bring a friend?
Yes! This might be our wedding, but this is also your vacation. Above everything else, we want you to have a great time. If you want to travel with friends and make this trip two vacations in one, by all means, please do.
Are children allowed to stay at the resort and/or attend the wedding?
No. Unico is an adult-only resort.
What does all-inclusive include?
Prepare to be spoiled! Included in your stay is room service, a custom stocked mini-fridge, a pillow menu, aromatherapy, wifi, non-motorized water sports, 5 star meals, and alcoholic and nonalcohol beverages. Below is a link to Unico's amenities.

What does all-inclusive NOT include?
Glasses of wine are included, but bottles of wine are not. Unico also has a variety of "experiences" for extra fees. You do not need to book any of these extra perks to have an amazing vacation. The link below includes the "experiences" with prices.

What is a local host?
Your host is a concerierge assigned to you upon your arrival. This person communicates between you and the resort. Although we advise you to make dinner reservations before you arrive, any changes you would like to make can be done by messaging your host. Your host can also book spa sessions, gym reservations, excursions, and activities for you.
We recommend downloading “whatsapp” on your phone to seemlessly communicate with your host; otherwise they will simply check in with you throughout your stay.
Your host can set up in-room mixology, have a bubble bath drawn for you, and have breakfast and mimosas delivered to you each morning.
Is there an App for that?
Of course there's an App for that. Download the Unico App (Apple App Store or Google Play) to see the property map, view a list of daily/weekly activities, view dining menus, and order room service. You can also request wake up calls and a new pillow from the pillow menu.
Do I need to tip?
Tipping is optional. However, the resort staff works extremely hard to make sure you have an incredible experience, and while not expected, tipping is very much appreciated. American dollars are acceptable.
What activities are offered?
On Wednesdays, a local artist will paint a message on the straw hats provided in your room. They are yours to keep!
There are regular fitness classes offered throughout the day, Bingo, dance classes, pool games, and more.
Check the app for more activities. There is usually a casino night that inlvoles play money that can be used to purchase bottles of tequila or champagne.

Dinner reservations are not required but HIGHLY recommended, especially for people looking to combine for a larger group dinner. You can book dinner reservations 30 days prior by emailing prearrivalhost@unicohotelrm.com with the restaurant and number of people. We recommend booking reservations, as you can always change them upon arrival should plans change by either visiting the host/hostess or messaging your host.
Groups of 8 or more will have a set menu.
Room service
If you don't feel like venturing from your room for food, room service provides some excellent options. Room service is 24 hours but please allow extra time for it to be delivered. Breakfast can be requested the night before by calling or utilizing the app.
Is there a dress code for dining?
Not really. All restaurants are "smart casual." The only attire that is not permitted in the restaurants is the following: sleeveless t-shirts/tank tops for the men, bathing suits, and pool or beach flip flops. Basically, don't go to a restuarant straight from the beach or pool.
How does the Spa and Excursions work?
Something that makes Unico unique is its inclusions. You only pay 25% of the listed price for spa services and excursions. You can book spa treatments and excursions through the Unico website, your local host, or through the Unico app. Excursions are listed under "indulge" and "adventures"; spa treatments are listed under "unwind" on the Unico website.
